The Objective

The assignment was to develop a framework and guidelines for integrating gender issues into teacher education institutions in Uganda. Specifically, it reviewed relevant policy documents and literature review on mainstreaming gender in education including the findings of the rapid assessment on Gender awareness in Primary teacher training colleges; conducted a comprehensive review and assessment of the current strategies in Uganda that have been adopted to integrate gender into teacher education institutions in selected countries; developed a national framework and guidelines for integrating gender issues into teacher education institutions for Uganda; and validated the framework with the selected stakeholders.
